Muallaf has been released with some muted dialogues

The movie was set be released on 2008, yet because the production did never comply with the silly strict Malaysian censorship authorities (They are always proved as the scene cutting hunger?)... the movie was banned from screening in Malaysia, yet hailed as a masterpiece after four days screening in Singapore.

A year later on late 2009, Muallaf (International Title: "The Convert") was released in Malaysia with few dialogues muted.

21-year old Rohana and her 14-year old sister Rohani are two Malay sisters on the run from their wealthy, abusive father. Finding refuge in a smaller town, their secret little world collides with that of Robert Ng, a Chinese 30-year old school teacher. Haunted by a dark period in his own childhood, Robert is irresistibly drawn towards the sisters, partly because of their plight, but mostly because of their mysterious ability to quote, randomly, from holy books and ancient scriptures. In this story of troubled souls who find comfort in each other, love offers us a chance to forgive, and ultimately, reconcile with our past.
